Cleaning Day is a recycling event that began in Finland in 2012. The initiative was launched in Japan in 2014, and this year the festival returns to Fukuoka for the fifth time. In order to promote upcycling, which is the concept of adding new value to recycled items, upcycling workshops will be held and upcycled items such as coffee utensils will be on sale. Some of the workshops include making gold-plated items from scrap paper, making badges from cans, and clay doll painting. Bring your own shopping bag!
