Aso tourism facilities will hand out fresh vegetable harvested from Aso Highland for free at Hakata Station open space (in front of the station) to thank for the support and to appeal recovery of its tourism business. Aso city was damaged dreadly last month by heavy rain, flooding and landslide. Many access roads were closed, however, restoration works has been done quite successfully and most of them are open now. During the event 10:00 and 17:00, fresh cabbage and corn 1500 bags, and discount coupon ticket for all-you-can eat restaurants in Aso will be hand out. The mascot character of Kumamoto city “Kumamon” and “Aka-ushi-kun” from Aso city will join this event. Even though it is their high season, the number of tourists are stagnant. The image of the disaster is affecting tourism business going down. Aso city want more and more tourist to come!
