HSBC Asian 5 Nations

START: Apr 20, 2013 END: Apr 20, 2013

The HSBC Asian 5 Nations, Asia’s elite regional rugby competition, will open its 2013 Top 5 season in Fukuoka, Japan on Saturday, 20 April 2013, at Level 5 Stadium. Defending champions Japan will take on the newly promoted Philippines Volcanoes in the first match of the Brave Blossoms (Japan national rugby union team) 2013 campaign. With an assembly of Filipino heritage players from around the professional leagues in Japan and Australia, the Volcanoes are intent on maintaining their spot amongst the elite top 5 rugby nations in Asia: Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines in the promotion and relegation tournament. It will be a tough opener for the Volcanoes as they travel away to perennial champions Japan for their first ever HSBC A5N Top 5 match. This year’s Top 5 competition is also doubling as the penultimate stage of the Rugby World Cup 2015 Asian qualifiers, with the relegated team from the 2013 Top 5 seeing their Rugby World hopes come to an end. Come out and support Japan’s Brave Blossoms as they continue their road to Rugby World Cup 2015.
