Keiseki Shrine inside Kashii Shrine has a longstanding custom of worshipping chickens, which continue until the present day at this autumn festival. Parents come to pray and give thanks for their children’s growth and health, and children offer sweets and snacks to the enshrined deity. The shrine’s symbol is (unsurprisingly!) an egg, so expect egg-themed food at the festival stalls and egg-related parent-child workshops and events! Live performances too. Visit with your family and don’t miss the chance to experience a local custom at this festival.
