These Nishinippon Shimbun sponsored events will see some of the top young judo and kendo competitors battle it out in Fukuoka. 168 girls and 322 boys will compete in one of the country’s biggest high school judo tournaments, which runs from July 21 to 24. In the kendo competition, which starts straight after the judo, Kyushu Gakuin will be aiming to win the boy’s tournament for a record fourth consecutive year.
