A total of 18 ramen shops gather at Mojiko, including 12 from the Northern Kyushu and Shimonoseki area alongside six renowned shops from across Japan. For ramen enthusiasts, it’s a rare opportunity to taste the carefully crafted broths and noodles of skilled ramen makers all in one place.
Local participants range from long-loved Kitakyushu “soul food” favorites to rising new names, offering the chance to compare deeply rooted regional flavors with evolving contemporary styles. The six visiting shops from around the country are well-known establishments that are usually difficult to visit due to distance. Sampling them side by side is a highlight of the event, offering a taste of ramen’s current landscape—from local classics to standout bowls from across Japan.
