This exhibition of Koishiwara pottery will feature over 300 items showcasing the distinctive style that has made this type of ceramics so highly respected throughout the world. Koishiwara boasts of a history stretching back around 350 years and is known for placing emphasis on the concept of “yonobi,” which implies that beauty exists in an item being used. The pottery is famous for unique patterns and possesses a simple, yet warm quality. A ceramics painting workshop will also be held during the run of the exhibition.
