A total of 15 breweries from Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki and Kumamoto will be gathering in front of JR Hakata City for a 4-day sake extravaganza! Last year, over 10,000 sake-lovers, commuters and travellers attended the event. Try Tanaka Rokujyugo from Shiraito Brewery, Niwano Uguisu from Yamaguchi Sake Brewery and Azumaichi from Gochouda Brewery. Purchase a special sake cup for ¥100 upon entering, and then use this to enjoy sake at ¥300 per refill. Five restaurants from the B1F of the new JRJP Hakata Building (which won’t open until Apr.27) will operate food booths at the venue, selling dishes which pair well with sake, such as kushiage (deep-fried skewers). There will also be booths hosted by Arita Plus, a group specialising in Aritayaki, at which they will sell different types of sake cups.
