Fried chicken fans should rejoice: Nakatsu karaage is coming to Fukuoka! Nakatsu karaage (from Nakatsu, Oita pref.) is famous throughout Japan for being utterly delicious, and there’ll be plenty of it at this Nakatsu market; 42 companies are participating, and almost half of those will be selling karaage! The others will deal in a variety of goods, including knives, umbrellas and other crafts. There’ll also be a variety of events such as karaage tasting events (1/15 (Fri.) 15:00~ and 1/17 (Sun.) 14:30~), free tonjiru (pork and vegetable soup flavored with miso) giveaway (1/16 (Sat.) 10:30~), a locally sourced fish auction (1/16 (Sat.) 12:30~), a taiko performance (1/17 (Sun.) 11:00~), and a discounted vegetable market (1/17 (Sun.) 13:00~).
