Catch a ferry over to Nokonoshima Island Park for the Daffodil Festival (Suisen Matsuri) this winter! Beautiful Japanese Daffodil (Nihon Suisen) are currently in bloom; this year’s flowers are blooming relatively late, and prime viewing time is from now until late Feb. You can also take advantage of discounted winter entry fees to the park (~2/31), and enjoy various activities such as “Nokonoko Ball” (a Nokonoshima original sport) and grill some tasty mochi, known as “Mochiyaki” (1/18~2/23 on Sat., Sun., and Hol.). The reception for Nokonoko Ball is located at the Nokonoshima Island Park entry. Plus, great news for seafood lovers: one of the rarest oysters in the area, Manyougaki (Nokonoshima oysters), famous for its size and juicy flavor is available at Restaurant Sakimori as part of their winter special menu. Reservation required for the oysters, as they are limited in number and sell out super quickly! Enjoy winter at Nokonoshima Island Park.
