Onigie Autumn Festival at Mihashira Shrine

START: Oct 12, 2019 END: Oct 14, 2019

The festival name “Onigie” derives from the word onigiwai, which refers to all the hustle and bustle that surrounds festival. The festival initially started as an expression of gratitude for a good harvest but has evolved and now features parades that draw inspiration from the Kyoto Gion Festival. Look forward to the parade of masked dancers as they march through the streets of Yanagawa, special stage performances as well as festival stalls that will be set up inside the shrine grounds.
