“Palm-Sized Zoo” is the first solo exhibition by Fukuoka-based illustrator Ohara Shiro, held at the Former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Kihinkan. Centered on works created through regular visits to Fukuoka Zoo, the exhibition features palm-sized canvases capturing the subtle gestures and expressions of animals.
The display includes a wide range of creatures—from mammals and birds to reptiles—depicted playing, eating, and resting throughout the day, as well as their interactions with visitors and zookeepers. Set within the historic Kihinkan in Tenjin Central Park, the exhibition offers a quiet setting to explore this miniature “zoo.”
