This harvest moon viewing festival is held to comfort the soul of Sugawara no Michizane, the Shinto god of learning. Watch the goshinka (sacred torch) relay race (16:30), join a tea ceremony (17:00), and browse the nearby bazaar for light snacks. Aside from moon viewing, a Shinto dedication including a gagaku (Japanese court music) performance and shrine maiden dance will also be held. Stay until 20:40 for the fireworks display!
