Celebrate the New Year with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at Rakusui-en Japanese garden in Hakata on Jan. 27. “The Way of Tea” is part of a series of cultural experiences run by NPO Hearty Care Foundation to promote interaction amongst the international community. Enjoy the aroma and flavors of green tea, while meeting people from many different countries. It’s a great chance for those new to tea ceremonies to learn the rules and manners of this traditional ritual. All three sessions are conducted in both English and Japanese, so foreigners and Japanese are welcome. You don’t need to bring anything, but no jeans or bare feet!
