In the tranquil water town of Yanagawa, the famous ‘O-hori Meguri’ (Canal Tour) offers a leisurely experience. Visitors embark on a ‘Donko’ boat and spend about an hour gently cruising through the city’s canals. The boatman provides trivia and sings songs, serving as a background soundtrack while you take in the scenic town views. Starting in December, ‘Kotatsu bune’ make their appearance. These boats are equipped with a kotatsu (a heated table with a blanket) over a hibachi (charcoal brazier), offering a cozy and warm canal tour experience exclusive to the winter season. *From February 20 to 28, due to canal cleaning, the tours will operate on a shortened course, lasting about 30 to 40 minutes.”
