A top-level handball tournament will be held in Kumamoto from November 30 to December 9. The event will be considered as qualifying games for the 24th IHF Women’s Handball World Championship in Kumamoto in 2019. Kumamoto’s popular character Kumamon visited Tokyo on Nov. 15 to wish Japan’s national team good luck. The top three teams will qualify for the World Championship to be held in Kumamoto in the coming year. Expectation is high after the team won the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 11/15/2018
