On July 25, Fukuoka City announced a suspected COVID-19 cluster at a nightclub in the city’s Chuo Ward. One staff member and eighteen customers tested positive with the virus between Jul. 16 ~ 25. According to the city, the nightclub is preparing to announce details surrounding the outbreak on its official website and social media soon. During the past week (between Jul. 20 ~ 26,) 404 new infections were recorded in Fukuoka Prefecture. Those cases involve residents in over-fifteen cities and counties, as well as some from other prefectures. Fukuoka Governor Hiroshi Ogawa stated at a press conference on July 26 that the region is currently on the verge of reissuing business closure requests.
