27 More COVID-19 Cases in Fukuoka – Governor Calls for Restraint on Weekends

Fukuoka Prefecture announced 27 more confirmed COVID-19 infections on April 1, bringing the prefectural total to 76. The number includes twenty-one persons in Kitakyushu City, five in Fukuoka, and one in Kurume. The increased number of corona patients brings more cases with unidentified routes of infection. Governor Hiroshi Ogawa held a press conference last evening in which he mentioned the possibility of a greater surge soon. He strongly requested residents to refrain from unnecessary outings during weekends for the next three weeks. The number of patients now exceeds the number of hospital beds (66) for treatments of the disease.  Source: NHK
