A total of 60 primary Kyushu non-bank companies released their interim business reports for the current fiscal year. Of the 53 companies for which a comparison is possible, 33, or 62%, reported either a loss or a decline in profit from the previous year. This is two more companies than last year’s total, when the Tohoku disaster occurred. These results are attributed to the slumping economies in China and the EU as well as Japan.
