“Adachi Sendensha” Takes 2nd Prize in National Contest

At the “63th All Japan Chin-don Contest” held in Toyama City between April 7 to 9, a Fukuoka-based chin-don group, Adachi Sendensha, won the second place prize. The first prize was won by a group based in Tokyo. Among the total of 12 prize winners, three groups were from Fukuoka (Adachi Sendensha, Bidama Honpo, and Konpeito) and one was from Nagasaki (Kawachiya). Chindonya is a traditional Japanese marching band that performs music, acrobats and talks in colorful costumes to create publicity for their clients. Source: Sankei West, 4/9
