Japan’s pop sensation group AKB48 released their latest single “Koi Suru Fortune Cookie” yesterday Aug. 21, with a promotional video that was shot in Fukuoka! Filming took place on June 22, and involved 3,800 extras – the most for any AKB48 video – dancing with AKB48 in front of Yafuoku! Dome. Other locations featured in the clip are: the HKT48 Theater at Hawks Town Mall and the gymnasium of the Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University.

The song – their 32nd single – has already reached #1 on the charts and sold one million copies in one day, marking a new record for the group (their 13th million-selling single in a row)! The lineup for the title track was determined by the results from the 2013 AKB48 general election, of which the winner was Rino Sashihara of AKB48 sister group HKT48. Fukuoka was chosen as the clip’s location due to Sashihara’s involvement in HKT48. Sashihara is originally from Oita.
