Mitsubishi Estate has announced an overview of their new building planned on the site of “IMS” in Tenjin, Fukuoka City, which closed in August 2021. The new building will stand 20 floors above ground (approximately 91 meters) with four underground floors for a total floor area of 74,000 square meters, about 1.6 times that of the former IMS Building. The exterior of the building will be made entirely of wood from Kyushu, and the lower floors incorporate plants, creating a design that aims to harmonize the city and nature. Tenants will include a hotel on the upper floors, offices on the middle floors, commercial floors on the lower floors, including the basement, and a plaza on the ground floor. Construction on the new building is scheduled to begin in July 2023 and is expected to be completed in March 2026. Source: Mitsubishi Estate / Fashionsnap
