Nishi-ku sake brewer Hamaji Shuzo has begun nationwide sales of its own Yogurt Amaou, a liqueur made from Fukuoka’s Amaou strawberries and locally-sourced milk. Dedicated to using local ingredients, Hamaji Shuzo uses original blending techniques to maximize the thickness of the yogurt and the trademark sweet-and-sour taste of Amaou. Yogurt Amaou is the third in a series of Hamaji’s original yogurt liqueurs. Based on the popularity of the first two blends, the company will begin nationwide sales in August and plans to produce 20,000 bottles per year. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun Aug. 8
