The Customs Office at the Port of Moji reports that Australia ranked third in 2011 among the nations exporting to the Kyushu region, following China and Saudi Arabia. Nearly 80% of those exports were accounted for by coal (40%), iron ore (21%), and LNG (15%). The value of the exports was roughly 167 billion yen, less than one-eighth the total of China’s 1.4223 billion in exports to the region.
