The Nagasaki-based startup, BugsWell, debuted cricket beer on Jan. 8. The environment-friendly beer rich in protein was first sold at the venue of Nagasaki Velca’s basketball match. While the beer contains cricket powder, its taste remains pleasantly fruity. The product will also become available from BugsWell’s crowdfunding page in mid-February.
