A Beppu-based company will start an unusual service to transport and deliver an onsen facility by truck. An inflatable structure, consisting of two sets of onsen bath for 4~5 persons and a changing room, will travel to any destination in Japan with 100% pure hot spring water from Beppu. The portable onsen is named “Genso no Yu” (illusional hot spring) and can be set up on a space of approximately 100 m2. While the service might be too pricey for personal orders (delivery fees vary by location: e.g., ¥1~2 million for Kanto area,) special events to experience the onsen are planned on 11/9 in Beppu, 11/23 in Tokyo and 12/1 in Shiga Prefecture.
