Canal City Hakata is opening a tourist information center called the “Canal Tourist Lounge”. The tourist center plans to offer the following services (all prices excl. tax):
Tourist information (Free)
• Information on Canal City Hakata as well as travel info for Kyushu and Fukuoka (travel/event info)
• Guides and maps based for foreign tourists on topics such as sushi & ramen
• A concierge on site at all times to assist visitors
Cafe lounge (¥200~)
• Resting space – a convenient place to stop in between shopping/travelling that serves refreshments such as hojicha tea, matcha lattes, and sake at a reasonable price.
Japanese culture experiences (¥1,000~¥3,000 depending on the menu)
• Services incl.: trying on traditional Japanese attire, calligraphy, origami, etc.
• Reservations can be made in advance or by dropping in
Japanese and multilingual lessons (¥500/30 min.)
• Japanese lessons useful for traveling (for foreign tourists)
• Foreign languages lessons (English, Chinese and Korean) for Japanese tourists.
Information on tours and minpaku
• The tourist information center ties up with travel agencies and will have pamphlets in the lounge
Baggage room and delivery services (storing luggage: ¥500/day)
• Services such as storing your luggage and delivering your luggage to your next place of stay or the airport
