Ceramist Ryuzan Aoki Dies


Ryuzan Aoki of Arita, Saga Prefecture, the first Kyushu ceramist to receive the Order of Culture and an advisor to the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition), died of liver failure at the age of 81. He served as the Kyushu chairman of the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association, and was a member of the Japan Art Academy.
