Chain Incident at Fukuoka School

In a disturbing event at a private middle school in Fukuoka City, two senior students have been sent to family court for their involvement in a bullying incident involving a freshman basketball team member. In September, the first-year student was reportedly bound with a chain by these seniors – one in second-year, suspected of unlawful confinement, and another in third-year, suspected of assault. The Fukuoka District Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken decisive action in this case. The school administration, treating this as a grave matter under the Bullying Prevention Measures Promotion Act, has launched a thorough investigation to understand the full scope of the incident and to implement measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
