Chambers Unite for Shinkansen Route Through Southern Fukuoka

A coalition led by the Chikugo area’s chambers of commerce has formed to champion the inclusion of southern Fukuoka in the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen route. At the coalition’s launch on March 13, Kurume Chamber of Commerce Chairman Yasuto Motomura highlighted the vital role this inclusion would play in boosting the regional economy. The alliance, encompassing seven chambers from Fukuoka’s south, such as Kurume and Omuta, is pushing for a route decision that favors local development, suggesting a path through Saga Airport to benefit both Saga Prefecture and southern Fukuoka. They plan to actively gather local feedback and influence governmental decisions to support this strategic route alignment. Source: KBC
