Police arrested a 32-year-old member of a Fukuoka organized crime group on suspicion of smuggling more than 1.2 kilograms of etomidate from Malaysia. Investigators said he conspired with another person to send the designated drug through Kansai International Airport last month. Customs officers found the powder hidden in single-serve coffee packets inside a box of coffee and tea products. The suspect knew the intended recipient in Fukuoka, and police have not said whether he admitted the allegation. Etomidate can cause hallucinations and convulsions, and investigators suspect an overseas smuggling organization may have been involved. Source: NHK Fukuoka / FBS News
