Costco Wholesale Japan, Ltd. announced plans to open a new warehouse store in Mifune Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. It will be the third Costco store in Kyushu. The company and the town made an official agreement on the store location on June 6 at the prefectural office of Kumamoto. The shop will be constructed on a 6-hectare space next to the Mifune Interchange of the Kyushu Expressway. Scheduled to open in spring of 2021, the shop is expected to employ over 200 persons.
