A council to promote agriculture in Kyushu as a growth industry, created through an alliance of representatives from the agricultural, commercial, and industrial sectors, held its first conference in Kumamoto City. Its objectives include expanding agricultural exports, primarily to Hong Kong, increasing the opportunity for business ties across sectors, and launching a program for mutual internships. The council was formed at the request of regional bureaus of national government ministries.
