The Fukuoka High Court has rejected a request by four Saga City fishermen seeking to halt construction of a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) base near Saga Airport, where the Ministry of Defense plans to deploy 17 Osprey aircraft starting in July. The plaintiffs claimed the land was sold to the state without the consent of all landowners. However, the court ruled they lacked rights to use or control the land and found no clear evidence of imminent harm from the aircraft. The plaintiffs intend to appeal to the Supreme Court.
