Daily Count in Fukuoka Drops Below One Hundred – Avispa Cancels Soccer Match

On August 3, Fukuoka Prefecture announced 77 more cases of the new coronavirus infection. The daily count fell under one hundred for the first time in six days. Infections were reported in different areas in the prefecture, including 44 cases in Fukuoka City. On August 3, a Kitakyushu resident in his eighties died from COVID-19, after being tested positive on July 29. The cumulative total for the prefecture stands at 2,269. Additionally, as of evening on August 3, a player for the local pro-soccer team, Avispa, is waiting for the result of his PCR test.
