Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine announced an extended period to accept new year visits. To ensure safety from the new coronavirus infections, the shrine will offer new year prayers and good luck items*until the end of March 2021. It will also operate a reduced number of yatai stalls and set up goshuin counters outside the shrine gate to avoid creating huge crowds. Each year, some two million visitors visit Dazaifu Tenmangu during Jan. 1 ~ 3. (*Seasonal items might sell out earlier. ) Source: NHK / Dazaifu Tenmangu
