Debris Removed From Fire at Kitakyushu City’s Tanga Market

On June 23, workers began clearing debris from the fire that broke out at Kitakyushu City’s Tanga Market in April of this year. More than two months after the fire, which destroyed 42 stores, a large amount of debris remains at the site. The removal cost is approximately 40 million yen, which will be funded by donations raised through crowdfunding by a local business group. The work will be completed by August 13. Fukuoka Now visited Tanga Market on June 23 to film a walking tour for Kyushu Live. You can see the market here: https://youtu.be/fCHFp80ry9o
