Delivery Services Attempt to Advoid Contact with Clients

While a state of emergency is in effect for seven prefectures, including Fukuoka, major parcel-delivery services are still available nationwide with some delays. Yamato Transport Co. adopted a more flexible system in which a receiving customer can ask the driver to drop the package without giving a signature on the delivery receipt, thus avoiding personal contact. Sagawa Express Co. asks customers to book baggage collections a day before the pickup day or earlier to limit the workload of its staff. Japan Post Co. continues operation of its post offices, banks, and ATMs, while it changes office hours at some branches in Fukuoka Prefecture.
