Department stores in Fukuoka City reported an 8% increase in sales for July. According to a Japan Department Stores Association report, monthly sales of the four stores totaled ¥16 billion. Monthly sales for those shops surpassed that previous year for the fifth straight month. Meanwhile, department stores sales dropped by 0.8% in other prefectures in Kyushu and Okinawa.
