A group of regional civil engineers, universities, and municipalities plan to create a database of disaster information for Kyushu. They have called on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and local utilities to participate. They plan to have a prototype version on the Internet before the end of the year. It will include information on earthquakes, tsunami, floods, and volcanic eruptions, such as the duration of the disaster and the size and extent of the damage. They plan to include information from documents several hundred years old.
