The Fukuoka Red Cross Hospital in Minami-ku held a training session on March 7 to give individuals a better understanding of how to respond to large-scale disasters. The medical facility has been designated as a base that will be open to the public in the wake of any major incidents or accidents. Approximately 130 people including doctors, nurses, and administrative staff from the hospital participated in the training drill. During the exercise, participants carried out the procedures that they would be required to perform if an earthquake with a seismic intensity of six hit the surrounding area.
