Ōkawa City has designated eight local post offices as cooling shelters to help residents cope with summer heat. From July 1 to September 30, the facilities will offer air-conditioned spaces for public use. The agreement was formalized on June 26 between the city and Kawaguchi Post Office. This brings the city’s total number of cooling shelters to 22. Post offices will also support the city’s disaster preparedness and public information efforts as part of the partnership. Source: NHK
