The value of Kyushu agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products during business year 2007 soared 17% to 54.3 billion yen, topping the 50 billion yen-level for the first time. Kyushu’s share of the national exports in this sector was 13%. Of particular note was the amount of exports going to Asian countries with high growth rates. South Korea imported the most products, followed by the United States, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
