Extension Granted for Drivers License Renewals

Fukuoka Prefectural Police announced the temporary suspension of driver’s license renewal procedures. Gold License Centers (Watanabedori and Kurosaki) are temporarily closed to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Drivers License Centers (Fukuoka, Kitakyushu, Chikuho, and Chikugo), as well as police offices that regularly handle license renewal procedures for other areas (Itoshima, Munakata, Asakura, Yukuhashi, Buzen, Ogori, and Ukiha, plus Kuroki Police Station in Yame), also stopped operations. Drivers whose license expires by July 31 can apply for a three-month extension by mailing required documents to the designated office. Meanwhile, other services, including reissuing, modifying, and revoking licenses are currently available at Drivers License Centers.
