First Fukuoka Population Decline in Three Years

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications released its statistics for the estimated population of Japan as of October 1, 2008. The population in all seven Kyushu prefectures declined, and this decline was the first for Fukuoka Prefecture in three years. The highest rate of decline in Kyushu was the 0.91% drop in Nagasaki Prefecture, which was also the fourth-highest in the country.
