First in Japan: Fukuoka City’s Well-Being Registration System

Fukuoka City has launched a registration system for businesses committed to achieving the well-being of their workers and the SDGs. Well-being is a term that describes the enrichment and satisfaction of people’s lives, and this is the first such initiative by a local government in Japan. The conditions for registration include conducting a survey to determine employee satisfaction with their jobs and reporting on the status of their efforts to achieve the SDGs. Applications will be accepted. Those who register will benefit from the city’s loan programs under favorable conditions. Mayor Takashima said, “Fukuoka City has made progress in developing tangible things, such as the Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment. Beyond that, it will be important to improve the soft aspects, such as the satisfaction of those who work in Fukuoka.” Source: KBC / Fukuoka City
