Construction of the first “Tenjin Big Bang” building has begun. On Jan. 29, Fukuoka Jisho Co., Ltd., announced the groundbreaking for Tenjin Business Center and the outline of its architecture. Designed by a Fukuoka-native architect, Shohei Shigematsu, and a French designer, Gwenael Nicolas, the new building will have 19 floors and two basement floors, which is three additional floors compared to the initial plan thanks to relaxed construction regulations for the city’s redevelopment project. An underground passage will provide a direct access to Tenjin Chikagai. The company intends to invite international IT companies and more until the completion of the building in September 2021.
