Sanui Orimino Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of the local-traditional Hakata-ori textiles in Fukuoka, is distributing free masks to local people. The company is showing its support for Fukuoka residents amidst a shortage of surgical masks due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Sanui Orimono has developed a reusable mask covered with an elegant piece of Hakata-ori. The company has already distributed 480 masks at two locations in Fukuoka City on March 21, attracting crowds.
