The Kyushu Long-Distance Ferry Association reported the results of its survey of six companies with eight routes starting and ending in Kyushu for the ratio of fuel costs to operating expenses. The survey shows a sharp increase compared to four years ago. For some routes the ratio has doubled. All the companies are considering fare increases in either September or October.
