Fukuoka Adapts COVID-19 Medical Strategy, Reduces Beds

Following the reclassification of COVID-19 under the “Class 5” infectious diseases in May, the local government has indicated plans to gradually reduce secured hospital beds while increasing the number of medical institutions accepting patients by the end of September. Approximately 40 people, including representatives from the local government, medical associations, and healthcare institutions, attended a conference discussing post-“Class 5” medical provisions. The local government aims to provide broader support instead of solely focusing on specialized medical institutions. Source: NHK
